3shape Study Group • Let’s Change Dentistry Together
Welcome to 3Shape Study Group!
Our mission is to be your go to source for quick, easy, and FREE help with anything related to 3Shape Dental System or the Trios Intraoral Scanner.
We know digital dentistry can be tough, and like a lot of technicians and dentists, I know I struggled managing all the ins and outs of moving from conventional to digital dentistry. I still do!
That is where this group comes in. As of this writing, we have more than 30,000(!) members from over 235 countries that can help you with whatever it is you can’t quite figure out. We invite you to post your cases, workflows, comments, and photos as we all work together to help one another!
The best part? It’s free!
The admins/mods of this group work hard to keep it free of ads, trophy posting, and anything unrelated to our singular focus: That no one should have to struggle at their desk figuring out how to finish a case for a client! Enjoy!
Sure would be great if the little plus sign next to the customer name that opens the control panel to add a new client would need a double click or some other confirmation like "are you sure you want to go to the control panel to add a client". Frustrates the heck out of me when I click on it by mistake and I am locked out till I can close the damn CP 3 min later. Now I know I am a fumble finger at times but can I get an AMEN from everyone that has been in this mindset? ... See MoreSee Less
Yes a even single is fine, just a pop up window, are you sure? Lol Also the damn ~ keynext to the #1 key freaking hate it when I press it and it opens up the smile library! 🤦♂️
I really thought this one was going to get a bunch of comments must only be me
True story: not sure what I did on my reinstall but I could open CP and it didn’t shut anything down. But I do remember the olden days before this and how annoyed I would be when I accidentally hit the CP and and had to wait 3 minutes 😂😂 AMEN John Wilson!!! ✊🏼✊🏼
Yes Modelbuilder team at 3Shape needs to get their shit together. Been complaining for many years. Maybe finally someone will actually listen or the new kid on the block slowly will take their bussiness. Rafael Galiakberow Rune Fisker
I am loving the ability to design partials and compete dentures at the same time!! It's so much quicker!!
But of course I have a few more wishes:
1. When designing the partials in this way, the mesial/distal edge of a denture tooth can not be cut into the adjacent natural tooth (in the framework design software this is possible)
1. When checking for contacts the distance map only works between denture teeth, it does not show contact between the upper complete denture teeth and the natural opposing teeth (when designing a single denture vs natural teeth the distance map works)
1. I still use metal frameworks, and so the teeth are designed over a scan of the model with a framework, and so the tissue is not as important for the majority of my designs. It would be nice to have to not worry about the coupling mechanism and fussing with the wax up to make it push through (in the framework software you can cut the sockets at the end but the coupling mechanism isn't necessary)
I understand that some of these are difficult to change with the way the software is currently set up, and I am thrilled with the improvements 2021 has come with, just throwing out some ideas for the future! ... See MoreSee Less
One more addition -the copy reuse cad function does not work very well if you are designing teeth to sit on a metal framework. If the partial alignment was based off the previous model (similar to how a single arch works) that would make the alignment easier because I have "set" these partial segments onto a model with wax, and so it will no longer align. there are work arounds for a new bite but using the copy reuse cad would be the simplest 🙂
When planning a base for automatic aligner trimming, it would be great if the base height could be a parametric value based on requirements of the trimming machine (e.g. trim path must be 4.5mm from the bottom of the base) rather than chosen every time by the operator. This would save resin and avoid problems at the CNC machine. An alternative would be to add an orange warning zone below the trimming path when a problem is predicted. The full workflow video can be found at www.ortho-automation.com in case this request is not clear. ... See MoreSee Less
Hi Team, how to get a model from existing denture?? Thanks ... See MoreSee Less
You can do the boxing to pour a model from the denture
But you have to put oil or separator
Use the copy denture button. Scan both sides...output an STL and print
Set work order up for a denture design, on the top right select impression, two single trays and a triple tray. Make sure the dentures are stuck together in occlusion for all the scans, scan the upper/lower/bite You will have two models in occlusion
I think it would be great if we can control the speed of the jaw movement with Virtual articulation. I would like it to be a bit slower when I show it to other people and a bit faster when I sculpt during the movement. ... See MoreSee Less
The only way I know to control speed is to grab the virtual articulator pin with the mouse and it allows you to slowly move.
It would be very nice for when using attachments there was the option to select and deselect which attachments to be active at the same time. 1,3, or all, whatever the combination. This would save LOADS of time in many scenarios.
Also, when extending the length of the base of the large handle attachment in the custom tray order, it would be awesome if it didn’t make the handle extremely disproportionate to the base. 🦷🤓🖖🏼 ... See MoreSee Less
It would be wonderful to be able to output multiple formats automatically. I lot of us have multiple milling machines with different software and it would be great to get an STL with Millbox margin files as well as a Cam5. Sometimes you don't know which machine you are going to use and using stl for everything is inefficient. I wonder even if the DLL could be programmed to launch a second DLL right after.... Hmm..... ... See MoreSee Less
For anyone familiar with Adobe premiere or Adobe after effects… you can send your project to Adobe media encoder after you’re done and you can select your output options there. For iPhone/YouTube/4K/h.264/hevc etc.
3shape model builder better watch out! ... See MoreSee Less
Select rpd design for oral scan and you will get the model in 2 clicks...
look at those realistic colours.
Minh Tran Indeed. What parameters of the base generation will you need?
It would be nice to be able design two- or more post and core joined together with Preci horix bar in one step. now its hell to design it 🙂 ... See MoreSee Less
It would be handy in 3shape communicate to forward a case to another 3shape communicate account without having to download it first into DS. ... See MoreSee Less
When designing a denture using the Ivoclar CAM5 split output it would be nice to also have a mono stl file output. There are some instances I need to come back the case and use as an opposing or print as a mono temp or something and it’s annoying to have to change the work order to an stl output and click through the entire design again ... See MoreSee Less
Great idea! It would be nice to just be able to change things on the fly in general without needing to redesign.
Just use visualization output-in one click you have all the stl files , and no need to do a redesign
Pam Rehm great comments it’s been on the wish list for sometime but the wish has come true Please also post this request in the Ivoclar Digital Denture System Users group 🏋️♂️ Taras Kucher
Hi, Pam Rehm - done in DS 2021 already 😊
Here are the settings to enable STL and monolock in CAM5 in Control Panel ->Manufacturing process

Hi , 3Shape
Can you make the 'Keep All' button to actually keep all of the scan? Instead of me having to trace manually? Am I missing something here? Is there a better work around? ... See MoreSee Less
Those are currently your only options, you’re not missing something! Someone from 3shape responded to an inquiry about this exact thing before, they said that for removables modules they have to have those jagged edges of the scans cleaned up, so the “keep all” functions remove them. I prefer to set my spline manually because the keep all function cuts off too much!
I CANT STRESS ENOUGH FOR MODEL BUILDER TO BE FIXED!!!!!
Simple solid model with ditched margins doesn’t work!!!!
Spent 5 hours on case, one hour for design 28 single units and 4 hours to build model. At the end model didn’t come out.
I’m sick and tired apologizing in front of clients for not delivering supreme product I charge for !
!!!!!!UNACCEPTABLE !!!!! ... See MoreSee Less
I regret you had the sad experience. I guess 5hours of troubleshooting was enough to send a feedback report (ctrl+f) and contact support of your reseller. Otherwise how will 3shape get the problematic case and make it working?
Veneers? Trios ?
Did you try turning the computer off and on again>
Power cycle is really important.
The only way I found to avoid a long wait and failed error message in the end is to make an unsectioned model only with dies and deselect 'cut gingiva with the design' and manually cut the gingiva with hand after printing the model. Hahaha. Does anyone know better work around until the MB gets fixed?
Hello everybody. Is it possible to send the client a previous project, such as exocad html, without using 3shape comunicate? Some people don't have 3shape, but I design with it. Thanks ... See MoreSee Less
Using a 3D pdf.
For 3shape communicate you don't need have 3shape software or dongle nummer. It can install everyone.
Dear @3shape, why give trios users the option of scanning 2 bite registrations if you're not going to do anything with it in dental system?
Oftentimes I find that full arch scans are closed properly on one side but the other side is completely wide open. So then I'm forced to use scansuite, import the scans in using the articulator function with left bite and right bite, then using that alignment scan.
Why isn't there just an option in Align to 2 bites in the prepare step for this same functionality?? ... See MoreSee Less
You can combine your 2bite scans as one and to use it for alignment on prepare step
Agree. Trios bites seem a bit of a weakness in the system to me. I’ve even considered printing models, hand articulating and scanning the bite on my desktop. Kinda defeats the point of the workflow and no use unless you have plenty of teeth. Not much fun adjusting bites on mono zi!
Come si caricano 2 morsi insieme?
I trained my clients to scan both bites all the way across from molar to molar and don’t pay attention to a trios ready signal.
Great sugestion 👏👏👏👏
Seems like I'm in Medit Fanboy mode today... but can we please have the option to add alternate e-mail addresses to our communicate account?? We're getting to the point where receiving ios order notifications is becoming too much of a task for one person to manage. So it would be nice if we can add alternate e-mails so we have more than one set of eyeballs checking our inboxes to make sure no cases fall through the cracks. When i initially signed up for these accounts, I used my own e-mail since I was the ENTIRE cad department. We've grown a bit since then so now I don't want our admin staff accessing my e-mails that I use to communicate with clients in case something gets marked as read but never actually got checked into our lab management software. ... See MoreSee Less
I believe you can update the email address on your 3Shape Communicate Account with a new one that is a shared mailbox so multiple people can access it and not your personal one.
I've set up the people that need to know what's going off on the 3shape app so at least someone picks up a case or two other than me.
Minh Tran you can make rules on Gmail to forward your emails to other addresses I.e.
Przemek Seweryniak Dtg that’s what I do with itero... but I like to nudge 3shape in the right direction whenever I can 😏
I wish we had an easy way to QC designs in 3shape. If I could easily measure contact depth, take a quick glance at neighboring tooth undercut, I would be a VERY happy camper. ... See MoreSee Less
2021 3d viewer is *slightly* better and includes some of these things

Please is there a way of refining a scan to make a model without having to make a crown!
I don’t make crowns nor do I want to just so that I can press a simple refine button!😡 ... See MoreSee Less
Jaime Tiziana Brain do not miss Dental System 188.8.131.52
Do the refine then go to the step where the program detects the margine (tooth with green circle around), let the program do the margin and then press the save button. After it saved you can exit
You’ll be happy with version 2021 then.. refine scans in model builder is one of the new features
I just keep a fake crown order handy, import the scan you need to fix, refine, then use the additional scans tool to save the refined model.
We have a case where clinician ask to close one screw hole out of three on implant bridge. It would be nice to have an option to choose each screw hole to close or use.
Thanks ... See MoreSee Less
I'd also like the option to increase the diameter of individual holes without it forcing ALL holes to change when I increase the offset.
Why is it that windows Snip & Sketch PNG files are so much better compressed than 3shape smile design PNG Files? Also notice how I have an MP4 file in there as well that's also smaller than the PNG files generated by Dental Desktop. The files generated by Dental Desktop are consistently 3-4x larger than snip and sketch with no discernable difference in quality.
When saving an image in photoshop in PNG format, you're given a choice of what file size you'd like to save with, and it typically doesn't affect the final image quality very much, but saves LOADS in file size. This is important because often I'm e-mailing these files (🤫shh don't tell the FDA) and gmail has a limit of 25mb before attaching files as a gdrive link which has sharing permission issues sometimes. ... 15mb? whats in it thats so extra?
I wish symmetrical movements like this were available for use with the Individual Transformation tool. I would be THRILLED! ... See MoreSee Less

You guys are asking for too much why not just ask for the damn program not to snap to front when you are doing other things and want it to just rebuild a case quietly in the background
At the end of scanning, it would be nice to have an "Automate" button. ... See MoreSee Less
It would be nice if 3shape could come to my lab and scan the cases too.
Coming soon! 🤣🤣🤣
It bad impression for the upper
For cases with both upper and lower crowns, can we NOT have the opposing arch automatically attach on the first step? I know it's not a big deal to click on the opposing arch and press undo... but still ... See MoreSee Less
This is a SCREAM for help.
Do something about model builder please. 3-4 hours of work around to build simple C&B solid model with ditched margins is not adequate to the price we pay for licensing.
And you must know I’m not a rookie here. ... See MoreSee Less
Had one about a month ago that took 4 hours and 3 different orders🥵 The design of the 28 upper and lowers took 2 hours... building the model took 4🤔
I couldn’t agree more for this scream for help! This model builder is the most frustrating out of all model builder softwares!!!
Setting the ditch height to the smallest (0.1mm) seems to work. I know. What's the point of ditching to 0.1? Its easier to manually remove some areas around the margin on the 3D printed unsectioned model than trying to do it with the MB. Hahaha. I only use the unsectioned model with separate dies.
Not sure if anyone has already suggested this, and hopefully I’m not alone on this, but I think it would be rad if it saved our abutment designs. ... See MoreSee Less
Can you clarify a bit what you mean? Because you can attach a “core file” or use a split file to reuse abutments
You can in a way but with out the interface portion. What you looking to do with it?
I save the design before and after assembley with additional scans tool, later when I rescan the manufactured abutment, i align those die scans to the designs i previously saved, and makup a prep arch with my die scans of my abutments in correct position.
Please dont ask for insertiondirection when designing temp on prepared model. Entering 28 times for no reason is soooo annoying and timeconsuming.... ... See MoreSee Less
Bridge them together, it’ll only ask for one direction
Just bridge them next time, then theres only one insertion direction
Double click to go to opposite view.
On the sidebar, we used to have the option for Top view, bottom view, front view, rear view, right side view, and left side view.
Not sure when they condensed it down to front, rear, top, and set view. But in Asiga Composer, if you click twice on a view button, it will take you to the opposite view.
So for example, if I click the Top view button once = top view, if I click it twice, bottom view. click on the front view once = front, click twice = rear. Click left view twice = right.
Really, they should change this side menu to Top View, Front View, Right side view so you're able to access all views via a mouse click rather than having to remember ctrl+alt+arrow key shortcuts that aren't intuitive to all users (especially new ones) Or give us the option to right click and choose which views we'd like to have set there. ... Ok it would be nice to have a actual tissue stop button for custom trays ... See MoreSee Less
All you have to do is use the add wax knife function and click “preparation scan” then add to the fitting surface of the tray. Works quite well and looks like this
I wish I had both these tools, for almost anything. Stipple looks like Covid virus. ... See MoreSee Less
Can we get the ID tags to face the proper direction? When I mount printed models, the upper ID is upside down. ... See MoreSee Less
Katrina Emirzian yes, we will implement that.
I don’t remember how anymore but it’s just a matter of adjusting something in the settings.
Should Model Builder flip ID tag orientation for upper jaws also for cases without an antagonist model?
It's been like that from day one. Lol
Hold shift control and press any arrow key...
Align anatomy for reuse to additional scans.
Often on big cases, we create an initial diagnostic, produce shell temps, then long-term provisionals, and finally the definitive restorations. So the nice thing is that once the original design is locked in and approved, you can just anatomy for reuse that baby all the way through.
Of course, between each appointment, there are adjustments and tweaks so the doctor always makes adjustments and rescans so we have the most current record of occlusion/contours to mimic for the next step.
On the DentalSystem side, we will grab the preceding anatomy elements and paste that into the folder for reuse. I usually right click > copy and append cad design to preparation scan.
Then I'll bring that appended scan as an additional scan for reference, align it to the new scan, and then eyeball the position of the reuse anatomy until it's as close as I can get it to the appeneded scan.
Pair this with Przemek Seweryniak Dtg annual suggestion of precise distance to additional scan and we have an extremely quick and easy way to reuse designs on these massive cases. ... See MoreSee Less
a typical "best fit" scenario looks like this for me using the above method... it's within +/- 20 microns everywhere... but still... Takes a significant amount of time and effort.
I align the new scans to the original scans, that way my anatomy for reuse is in perfect position 😬
Save settings as new template directly from within Dental Designer.
In this example, I'm doing a modified die interface setting for these tabletops (veneers) and I want to apply the same settings to the remaining 5 veneers.
Typically, you would need to exit out, go to control panel, create a new die interface, remember your exact settings that you had in Dental Designer etc.
If you had an option to "Save current settings as new template" and then select it for the next 5 dies on the fly... that would be amazing.
Adding an "Apply to all" would be a dream come true when paired with this. ... See MoreSee Less
Splint studio, we need option to trim scans, especially from IOS... ... See MoreSee Less
Ales Tomsic , thank you for suggestion. Does it mean that the trimming tool on the Prepare step is not that you need?
It really is way more intuitive in the partial designer software that at the end of the frame design in addition to the pocket cutting tool you should be able to cut the denture teeth to the frame here. After we go through all the steps to make sure the frame dimension is perfect one click we should be able to cut teeth to pattern. ... See MoreSee Less
Yes, this would be one small step that would make a difference
Yep other software do this easily

Why can’t the software handle a simple cantilever bridge?

Yeah it’s not ideal is it 🤦🏻
You have one less tooth to design so the software compensates with extra work for you to do so you don’t get rusty and out of practice🙃
Can we have the option to select multiple cases and copy>standard copy??
I check cases in from communicate or itero and the names are all wonky/not formatted the same as the rest of our cases so we have to individually copy >standard copy each case one at a time... and it's equivalent to a PAINFUL and unusual form of torture watching that little mouse circle spin...😤 ... color? control panel system, scroll all the way down. you will see back ground.
In Denture Design Module, when Adjusting Occlusal Plane it would be nice to have the rotation points (in lateral view) moved from center of circle.
When selecting the Posterior Control Point move the center of rotation to the midline between the Central Incisors (#8 & #9 or 1-1 & 2-1). This will allow us to adjust the occlusal plane while keeping the anterior teeth on the esthetic plane.
When selecting the Anterior Control Point move the center of rotation to the midline between the Second Molars (#2 & #15 or 1-7 & 2-7). This will allow us to move the esthetic plane while keeping the occlusion at our preferred spot (2/3 height of Retro Molar Pad). ... See MoreSee Less
The option to check off a design center-style import one time only.
For my main system at work I like to update material/manufacturing on import on most cases when I design from home or there's a material mismatch for whatever reason so I keep design center checked off in control panel.
But when I'm trying to help friends out with issues or just importing something random for another lab that I may be outsourcing something for, it would be nice to have the option to import as design center and not update their material/manufacturing settings at import time by checking a little box that makes it behave like a design center import that one time only. ... just think about how long it took you to remember the syntax and what file names had spaces in them. I took it one step further and have hot key macros for All the file names 🙂

Manually add side drain holes in model builder like you would an attachment in DentalDesigner so you can avoid critical areas where you don't want holes ... See MoreSee Less
Those auto generated holes tend to shoot through all the wrong places all the time. Wonder why they didn’t take care of protecting the model id tag agains holes.
Can't you use attachment holes??
So we close holes at the start and then add them in the end. Got it.
It would be good to turn the text on upperjaw in modelbuilder 180 degrees so you can read the text in its original direction when the models are in articulator and not upside down ... See MoreSee Less
Agreed! Same for ID tags to export the models in clear aligner studio. It does not make any sense !
Cut-back as a Sculpt tool, in any workflow.
It would be ideal to be able to add cut-backs to temp on prepared orders, wax-up orders, full anatomical crowns or gingiva that need cutbacks.
It could work very similar to the extraction tool or a reverse of the occlusal stop tool, with the exception of being able to choose the offset and having a nice clean finish line.
This means that you would not have to close your order and change the order form to anatomical copings, you simply select the cutback tool and add an area of reduction to any tooth on the fly.
Thanks for your consideration. ... See MoreSee Less
How much time you spend on that icon??!?😆 looks great! I use the plane cut tool for that at the moment... but it would even be good if we had a modifier in the plane cut tool to paint areas we want to protect and cut the remainder

Model Builder, add another button on top for "Make the original (RAW) model". Most of the time when doing diagnostics, I end up going back to sculpt the model and remove parts so that it fits inside of the diagnostic shell. Model builder only pulls from the MB preparationScan and not the raw scan.

Minh Tran What's your diagnostic wax-up model workflow? I used to think it is about designing temp. pontics/crowns/or temp. on prepared model in the order with unsectioned digital model. Then you only need to reduce original teeth below the designed temp. on prep model on a sculpt step of ModelBuilder. However on the screenshot I see merging of the Anatomy items from [order]/Anatomy elements folder, and you write that Raw preparation scan.dcm has original teeth removed. How does it work?
It would be nice if I can select a part of the crown to morph rather than the whole crown. Morphing force me to fix connection to the margin area and contacts that were plane cut nicely previously when all I want to morph is some area of occlusion for example. ... See MoreSee Less

Yes, I have a suggestion on here to be able to Mark with highlight or spine to adapt anything to anything.
That's why it would made sense to have sculpt to distance on whatever scan you choose. Then you can set distance and sculpt to that scan exactly where you like. Asked for this since 2014 still asking

Or make changes to the orders from dental manager fields rather than right clicking > waiting for the order form to load > make the change > wait for dental manager to refresh itself The fact that so much of the program lives ONLY within “right click” is a bit of a programming faux pas These things should each have 3-4 different ways to access them Traditionally you would have “file, edit, view, window, help” menus at the very top Toolbar with buttons near the top Quick launch buttons near the bottom And a right click menu Lastly hot keys (which we thankfully have for a few frequently used items) But this is pretty standard programming GUI language stuff
And they could implement some kind of calendar which could be accessable without dongle, like an app where you could see your cases sorted out..

Can we get an additional checkbox at this stage of model builder to "Also produce additional original model" when selecting merge design
I have a lot of accounts that want me to print off the diagnostic model as well as an original model so they can show the patients the difference. What we're doing currently is copy > standard copy > go back into model builder and then make the original model... which is time consuming with how slow model builder is from start to finish. would be nice if you could just check a box and have it spit out two models when you generate cam. ... Hahah. Yes. We have been asking for this for ages now. The power of this would also be to get the articulated interface lined up to fit all models in between. 2022 maybe. One can only hope.
Snd while your at it model of the prepreparation..
Minh Tran, Kenneth Elemark, Przemek Seweryniak Dtg Thank you for combining 3 requests into this one! There are 2 variants: 1) Faster to implement, faster to design but limited variant: check-box-hack like do also original model, do also pre-prep model (share connectors of articulator interfaces but without options to design soft tissues, sculpt, custom ID Tags, custom bases, etc). 2) Longer to implement, longer to design but mighty variant: full-power constructor that allows to design different models from different scans with partly shared design on your choice (connectors of articulator interface, bases, ID tags, soft tissue items). What variant do you really need? Or better what design options do you need for this additional models?
I’d like an option to scale and move the chosen smile library to a Pre-op scan or fitted temps without having to morph to it which changes and loses too much detail of the very nice smile libraries that we have. This would keep the morphology and detail of the library but place and scale them within the boundaries, which you can do manually but who wouldn’t want it done quicker and easier. It would also stop the tidying up of contacts issues you have when you morph to Pre-op. ... See MoreSee Less
In the Denture module it would be nice to have a distance map at the sculpt anatomy stage, especially for a case like this that needs to be designed end to end, I'd like to smooth out the incisal a little bit without loosing contacts. A visual of where the contacts are would be nice ... See MoreSee Less
Certainly would be nice to have the collision lines icon available in denture designer ... See MoreSee Less
Hi John Wilson. Isn't it available already in Smile composer? Or it would be good to have on another design steps?
This always happens when doing immediates and it is pretty time consuming to fix it. Why can't the software just give me a solid base like the second picture after I fixed it!? Please Rune Fisker, have the team take a look at this. I know the green lines of the teeth yadda, yadda, but if I morph or scale the teeth down to the point that they're not touching the ridge, they're ugly as hell and unfortunately with immediates, space is always on issue. Thx ... See MoreSee Less
Chris Uehlein are you saying cut the teeth at base thickness VS at the model? To maintain your base but just slice the teeth?
We send also a bunch of feedback reports on this one, it happens also with lower dentures with a high volume. I think it is in the new gingivator tool, we didn’t face this issue with the old gingiva creator. I know they are aware of this issue and try to solve it
Hi, Chris, thank you for the report. Germen is right - the Gingivator tries to follow the green lines. And you can get these results if green lines are too close to scan. We're working on it, I hope it will be fixed in new relese
While we wait for the fix... I use the morph tool and just morph all the holes into big mounds and then use the smooth to flatten and it will fill the small in between holes, takes about 30 seconds total
We need 'Sculpt' tools to smooth out sharp joints after applying the 'Screw hole protection'. So that we don't have to do it with Meshmixer. How do you do it? ... See MoreSee Less
Anything that sharp is not going to mill anyways so I just bring it into cam and it’ll Bypass it on it’s own
Again a minor complaint but it would be nice if the handles for posterior teeth where the same in the full denture design as in the partial denture design, even for complete upper and lower dentures sometimes I'd like to adjust the ramp of the posterior teeth without changing the angle of the anteriors. ... Yes! Select with teeth to move and move in any direction with specific measurements and degrees!! Every module.
Would really need different colors on additional scans. Thank you ... See MoreSee Less
I've been complaining about this from the introduction of the additional scans feature which I love. 🙂 Also names displayed at the sliders so that I won't have to hover over each additional scan sliders to see what it is.
It really needs this
Scroll to increase/decrease attrition on posteriors and scroll to increase/decrease anotomical detail definition on anteriors. All, single, or mirrored. ... See MoreSee Less
Yes the scroll key can and should be implemented in many other features.
And option for scrolling for size of the whole tooth as well, so that it’s done at the same measurement simultaneously 😁
Hi, I'm new, Excuse me, I have a problem, what happens is that I was calibrating the color and some black spots began to give me problems ... Clean the tips and the sensor well with compressed air and it worked relatively, now I calibrated again and it came out worse .... What is the reason and what can I do? ... See MoreSee Less
Hi! I would post this in the study group or the trios user group...but, when is the last time you replaced your scanning tip? Are you sure you had the calibration block on the correct side? For gray and for color?
Can we please have the ability to select individual teeth when designing to move only the selected teeth?
For example, if I want to love only 6-11 back 2mm or rotate that segment but not move anything else, it’s a pain to do it as is because if I calibrate my library in the beginning, as I should and have my symmetry set, if I move them individually to the right and back 2mm, I have to recalibrate. And wasted my time in the beginning. Once the midline is moved, that’s it. Game over on calibration.
Another scenario is if I have the right posterior perfect and copied design to the other side but the patients maxilla is more narrow on the left but I only want to move that upper left lingual 4mm...If I could select those teeth I could move them and keep that same symmetry as far as angle, but I can’t as is.
That being said, can we have a “calibrate library” option as well? Kind of like an “optimize occlusion” button, would come in super handy.
Also along with this request comes the re-request to have the movement options in temp on prep and any other tooth design module that we have in the denture module. Make it an option to make these movements as a tool and turn it off when not needed again to go back to traditional movement options. The movements are measured and the blue arrow is my FAV!! This tool is so amazing it shouldn’t just be limited to the denture module.

Hi, Whitney McCarty. Is the first part of the request related to the denture module?
A heat map would be nice for the Additional Scans tool to see the accuracy of the alignment. ... See MoreSee Less
I know it’s only a matter of time, but when will we have undo or Ctrl+Z for bar design? ... See MoreSee Less
Not in our lifetime!
Can we have a tool that allows us to set line angles by degree? And then the ability to copy those line angles to the adjacent teeth. We see measurements appear when we make rotations in designing and in the denture module from the distal view it shows the angulation degree, so setting a line angle and copying across arch should be achievable. 🙂 ... Hi, Whitney McCarty. May I ask you to share some screenshots? not sure I understood what is needed
🔴📢Attention please: THIS. I understand this 600%. As technicians, our time is our most valuable asset. We need a designated workflow for bar overstructures. That is robust and flexible. I am sure we can come up with a nice achievable amazing list of ideas that would make this module untouchable. 💥🔥📣 GO TEAM! ... See MoreSee Less
